Parks, Trails and Conservation Areas near Pine Valley & Teston

The natural setting, in general terms

Lormel describes many Balmoral homes as backing onto pristine nature. North Vaughan sits within the Humber River watershed, and much of the green space in the area is associated with valleylands managed or regulated by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

This guide is about using and enjoying parks and trails. For what regulation means for your lot, see the separate ravine lot due diligence guide.

Official places to start

  • City of Vaughan — parks, trails, recreation centres and facility information.
  • TRCA — conservation areas and trail information across the watershed.
  • Kortright Centre for Conservation — a TRCA-operated centre on Pine Valley Drive in Vaughan, with trails and programs. Check its site for current hours, fees and programs.

We don't list distances or drive times; check them yourself on a map from the community location.

A practical amenity checklist

Before deciding, visit at the times you'd actually use these places: weekday evening, weekend morning, and in winter. Check parking, washrooms, trail surfaces, accessibility and whether dogs are allowed.

Seasonal checks

Trails can close for maintenance, weather or wildlife. Programs and hours change seasonally. Always check official pages before planning around a specific facility.

Future parks

The Phase 1 site plan published by Lormel shows a proposed park. Proposed means not built; timing and design are set through municipal processes. Ask the builder and the City for the current status.
